Injectables & Fillers

Facial fillers and dermal injections are the most effective treatment on the market for reducing wrinkles and improving the overall appearance of the face. These injections work by plumping the skin from the inside out, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, restoring volume in the lips and cheeks, and improving the overall symmetry of the face.

All fillers are injectable (meaning they work underneath the skin) but not all injectables are fillers. Botox is injectable but does not have the same physical effect as dermal fillers.

Botox Injections

As we age the production of collagen and elastin begins to slow and we start to develop fine lines and wrinkles. There are two types of lines: static and dynamic. Static lines are seen while our face is resting and dynamic lines are only visible when making facial expressions like smiling, squinting, frowning, or furrowing. Botox is a type of neurotoxin that is an excellent treatment option to reduce dynamic lines and prevent the formation of static lines. We use a small needle to gently inject either Botox to relax the specific facial muscles that cause visible signs of aging.

Botox is a perfect option for softening lines on the forehead, between eyebrows, around the eyes, and many other areas. Botox will help fend off those pesky crow’s feet for just a bit longer. Our neurotoxin treatments offer a simple, nonsurgical solution with minimal recovery time.

Treatment only takes 20 minutes and with a few tiny injections, results can be seen in 3-14 days following the procedure. Botox treatments will lead to a more rested and youthful appearance that can last up to four months. Botox has been safely used for more than 20 years and is FDA approved.

Botox / Xeomin Forehead

Several small injections of a neuromodulator are used to smooth horizontal lines and vertical wrinkles between the eyes and on the forehead. The injections work to relax the muscles that cause these wrinkles to form. Visible smoothing of the wrinkles becomes apparent as early as 3 days after injection and continues to improve over the course of 14 days. We will determine the need for any touchups after the 14th day. Treatment effects last for 3-4 months, on average.

Botox/ Xeomin Crows Feet

Injections of neuromodulator to smooth horizontal lines caused by squinting and smiling along the sides of the eyes.

Botox/ Xeomin DAO (muscles that cause smile to pull downward on the sides)

Neuromodulators such as Botox (onabotulinumtoxin A) and Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxin A) can improve the appearance of wrinkles during facial animation by reducing movement. Treatment usually takes 15-20 minutes. Visible smoothing of the wrinkles becomes apparent as early as 3 days after injection and continues to improve over the course of 14 days. We will determine the need for any touchups after the 14th day. Treatment effects last for 3-4 months, on average.

Depressor Anguli Oris (DAO)

The DAO is the muscle that pulls the corners of the mouth when you frown. Botox injections in this area can relax the muscle enough to let the corners of the mouth resume their normal contour.

Botox/ Xeomin Masseters (muscles involved in jaw clenching)

Injection of a neuromodulator into the masseter muscles is an effective treatment for reducing a prominent or asymmetric jawline caused by enlarged muscles. The muscles along the posterior jaw are used to chew and clench the teeth and can become enlarged when the teeth are clenched while sleeping. The treatment reduces the size of the muscles injected, thereby smoothing the facial contour.

Using botox to reduce the size of a muscle is not uncommon and can be used for enlarged jaw muscles . The neuromodulator blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles preventing contraction. By preventing contraction the muscle will cease to grow in size and will begin to atrophy, reducing its prominence. Typically, 15-50 units of the neuromodulator are injected on each side of the face into the masseter muscle. This treatment should not have a major impact on biting or chewing. Patients who are interested in receiving botox to contour the jawline must be aware that the injection will only treat overactive masseter muscles and will not improve a squared jawline caused by bone structure.

Treatment effects last for 3-4 months, on average. A series of treatments may be required for optimal outcomes.

Botox/ Xeomin Platysmal bands

Platysmal bands are caused by aging and thickening of two edges of the neck muscles that run up the front left and right sides of your neck mid-line, all the way to your chin. Neuromodulators can be used as a stand-alone treatment to restore a more youthful neck contour and complement.

Treatment usually takes 15-20 minutes. Visible smoothing of the wrinkles becomes apparent as early as 3 days after injection and continues to improve over the course of 14 days. We will determine the need for any touchups after the 14th day. Treatment effects last for 3-4 months, on average.

Dermal Fillers

As we age, cheeks flatten and skin begins to sag. This is caused by a natural loss of volume- age-related mid-face volume loss. We use hyaluronic acid fillers; to add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour the cheek area, jawline, and chin.

Fillers work by plumping the cells underneath the skin. Each treatment has a different chemical mechanism but at their very core, they either plump up individual cells or add a synthetic material on top of the existing cells. This reduces the look of wrinkles and lines because it physically removes the depression that makes the wrinkle. The skin is lifted from the inside.

Fillers improve the overall look of the face and skin by:

  • Smoothing lines and wrinkles
  • Restoring volume to cheeks
  • Plumping lips
  • Smoothing chin crease
  • Improving overall symmetry of the face

Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that can give you fuller, plumper lips. An injectable dermal filler is the most commonly used method of lip augmentation. There are many types of dermal fillers that can be injected into your lips and around your mouth which will be determined by your injector depending on your aesthetic goals.

Dermal filler may be combined with Botulin toxin for optimal results.

Mid-Face Volume

Placing hyaluronic acid (HA) filler into the midface area creates a lifted, more volumized look. Not only does HA have magic moisturizing qualities – meaning your skin will look healthier – but it also plumps up the skin, smoothing out static lines like those pesky nasolabial folds, and gives a rejuvenated appearance.

The great thing is that you’ll see a noticeable difference straight away after getting fillers, but things will likely continue to improve even more over the course of the next few weeks when the hyaluronic acid has really had a chance to work its magic! Not only this but dermal fillers can last up to around 18 months, making them a great option for anyone who wants a natural but noticeable difference without the surgery.

Kybella

WHAT IS KYBELLA?

Kybella is the first and only FDA-Approved injectable to improve the appearance of fat beneath the chin, or the double chin, by physically destroying fat cells.

It is a man-made form of deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring material that helps the body absorb fat. Double chins can be difficult to get rid of, even with diet and exercise.  With Kybella you can destroy the fat cells contributing to this unflattering phenomenon and reclaim your profile!

With Kybella, you can eliminate the need for liposuction or other invasive techniques. Through a series of injections, Kybella mimics the body’s natural fat-absorption process and leaves you with a more defined jawline and a more youthful appearance!

Every person is different, so the number of treatments and number of vials per treatment will vary. But most patients can expect to have 2-6 treatments to complete their regimen.
